The challenge of the Mastrangelo Company – Tenimenti del Grifone – was founded in 2000 by the great passion of its owner Filiberto Mastrangelo and the happy marriage with one of the most talented Italian winemakers Beniamino on Sunday. The vineyards and olive groves located on the lush hills of Abruzzo in the provinces of Chieti and Pescara characterized by good temperature ranges and excellent exposure allow you to have the best conditions to promote a high quality olive growing and viticulture able to enhance the typical products of the territory constituted from Leccino, Gentile, Nebbio, and Taggiasca olives and from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo grapes.
From the choice of the most suitable land, to the right crops, you get selected fruits rich in health.
An olive growing careful to the enhancement of the typical cultivars linked since ancient times to the Abruzzese territory, after the traditional hand harvest of the fruits and a cold pressing in old mills in the area, has allowed to obtain an oil of rare structure and refinement capable of releasing hints and harmonious flavors.
In the wine, a careful search of ancient vine clones together with young settlements have been identified and selected on the lands of the vastese in the province of Chieti that slightly degrade towards the sea and in the more hilly ones in the countryside of Loreto Aprutino in the province of Pescara .
It is in fact from the care of the vines that a great wine is born with a harvest made when the grapes reach full phenolic ripeness, also evaluating the pH, sugar content and total acidity.
The harvest traditionally made by hand allows to evaluate the clusters one by one respecting the integrity while preserving all the organoleptic characteristics.
After de-stemming the grapes, the vinification “in white” or “in red” involves different processing of the grapes to allow the extraction of the noble components from the berries and skins able to characterize the future wine in color, aromas, flavors and aromas thus constituting its personality.
The wise use of modern technologies within the more traditional processes, has allowed the control of the production phases of the wine ensuring the physiological maturation of the products of the earth.
Steel for the whites and wood for the reds of great body and structure allow a further refinement of the wine able to reach high quality, balance and elegance before being bottled only in the best vintages.
